His mastery of jazz, both traditional and contemporary, R&B, Zydeco, and Gospel, has brought him to all 50 states and many countries around the world.
Locket studied at Southern University under the tutelage of the great Alvin Baptiste.
After working as a live and recording musician in Atlanta and Los Angeles, Lockett move back to Louisiana and open Lockdowne Records, and productions.
As an engineer, producer, song writer, and musician, he have worked with mini top recording artist.
Some of the most memorable performances been on David Letterman and Conan O'Brien with a great Beau Jocque as a member of the high Rollers.
Lockett has performed at many jazz, blues, zydeco and r&b festivals along with the Library of Congress, and many others.
In 2024, Lockett won a Grammy for engineering production and keyboards on “New Beginnings” Buckwheat Jr. and the Ils Sont Partis Band.
In 2026, Mike has release his debut single September his jasper edition of the legendary earth wind and fire song with the same title.
